DRAFTING REPRESENTATION AGREEMENT
A Representation Agreement is another area of estate planning that you may wish to contemplate. Its purpose is similar to a Power of Attorney, but rather than making financial decisions, your representative is appointed to make health care decisions on your behalf, in the event you are unable to make or express your own wishes. The representative is required to make decisions for your care based on instructions you have provided when you were able to do so, or, alternatively, based on the representative’s knowledge of your previously expressed wishes. This document can be helpful in the event you need health care assistance, and there is confusion as to who should give the instructions on your behalf, or possibly individuals who wish to give conflicting instructions as to your care.
